Ichthyostega c8187bdf88 clean-up: complement and modernise basic type-lists 
- provide complete conversion paths old-style ⟷ new-style
- switch the basic tests to the new variadic sequences
- modernise the code; replace typedefs by `using`
- change some struct-style ''meta-functions'' into
  constexpr or compile-time constants
