216ab525fd OutputSlot: integration with buffer management (+documentation)
Within the reworked design of the `OutputSlot` a proxy implementation
of the `BufferProvider` API is used (class `OutputBufferProxy`).

After analysis of the invocation patterns, I concluded that it seems adequate
to attach the special-purpose metadata generated by this integration
to the generic system of thread-local replicated `BufferMetadata` storage.

However, since thread-local instances are effectively static(global),
I was concerned that unit-testing might be impeded by accumulation of
stale metadata in the store linked to the main thread. Thus I created
a special configuration variant to retain the previously used setup
for the sake of unit testing (which applies especially to use of the
`DiagnosticOutputSlot`). Using a `SimpleBufferStateRegistry` for in
that case has the benefit that simply a local instance can be used
in the test and all metadata will be discarded afterwards.

Furthermore the factory syntax for obtaining an `OutputSlot` was improved,
drawing on the recent changes to `lib::ScopedCollection`.

Also I looked through some of the documentation and updated
the UML sequence diagram to reflect `OutputSlot`'s improved internal structure

e0d6362bad BufferProvider: document the adapted structure in UML
There was an old UML diagram created at the time of the first draft.
It is integrated into the »OutputSlot« page in TiddlyWiki. This description
and the diagram are highly relevant for understanding the design in this case.

Unfortunately, Umbrello was "improved" with a lot of features since I used it
for the last time, but the **quality** of the software has been **degraded**,
it is now buggy and the layout is imprecise and gets messed up easily.

81ef3c62e9 Invocation: code clean-up and documentation
Remove left-overs from the preceding prototypical implementation,
which is now obliterated by the change to a flexibly configured `FeedManifold`
with structured, typed storage for buffers and for parameter data.

The Render Node invocation sequence, as rearranged and reworked for the »Playback Vertical Slice«, now seems reasonably clear and settled.

Adding extensive documentation to describe the conventions and structures worked out thus far;
moreover, start makeover of old documentation in the !TiddlyWiki to remove concepts obviously obsoleted now...

bcd2b3d632 PlaybackVerticalSlice: design analysis for Frame Dispatcher and Scheduler
- decision: the Monad-style iteration framework will be abandoned
- the job-planning will be recast in terms of the iter-tree-explorer
- job-planning and frame dispatch will be disentangled
- the Scheduler will deliberately offer a high-level interface
- on this high-level, Scheduler will support dependency management
- the low-level implementation of the Scheduler will be based on Activity verbs

c39c49b998 DOC: abandon BoUML and start over with Umbrello (closes #960)
BoUML was close sourced by its author and consequently dropped
from Debian. We use UML as a drawing and documentation tool,
and thus we'll just start over with the /obvious/ choice,
which is the Umbrello tool.
