5a203513c9 Library: ensure automatic re-seeding for TestFrame
This closes a ''conceptual gap.''

There was a `lib::TestFrame::reseed()` function, which should be invoked
whenever a clean / deterministinc seed is required for computations involving
`TestFrame` data.

On occasion I noticed that most actual usages of `TestFrame`, which became quite common
lately, were missing this `reseed()` call, while the enclosing test
had indeed a proper Test::seedRand() call.

So my conclusion is: if even ''I myself'' miss that fine point frequently,
it is justified to automated this setup, even while `TestFrame` is right now
the only client of such a setup-facility.

There is a twist though.
`TestFrame` is part of the ''Engine'' test coverage, i.e. it is linked
into `libtest-core.so`. While the support for random numbers and reseeding
is obviously a very basic library feature, and linked into `liblumiera.so`

**Oh well**.
So now we have ''yet another'' static registration service.
I kept everything as simple as possible, which means, we continue
to use the ''common, global random generator'' from the library,
and there is no protection against some other code using those
library functions in a non-deterministic way.

`lib/random-reseed.cpp` is just a glorified hard-wired setup, beware!

806db414dd Copyright: clarify and simplify the file headers
* Lumiera source code always was copyrighted by individual contributors
 * there is no entity "Lumiera.org" which holds any copyrights
 * Lumiera source code is provided under the GPL Version 2+

== Explanations ==
Lumiera as a whole is distributed under Copyleft, GNU General Public License Version 2 or above.
For this to become legally effective, the ''File COPYING in the root directory is sufficient.''

The licensing header in each file is not strictly necessary, yet considered good practice;
attaching a licence notice increases the likeliness that this information is retained
in case someone extracts individual code files. However, it is not by the presence of some
text, that legally binding licensing terms become effective; rather the fact matters that a
given piece of code was provably copyrighted and published under a license. Even reformatting
the code, renaming some variables or deleting parts of the code will not alter this legal
situation, but rather creates a derivative work, which is likewise covered by the GPL!

The most relevant information in the file header is the notice regarding the
time of the first individual copyright claim. By virtue of this initial copyright,
the first author is entitled to choose the terms of licensing. All further
modifications are permitted and covered by the License. The specific wording
or format of the copyright header is not legally relevant, as long as the
intention to publish under the GPL remains clear. The extended wording was
based on a recommendation by the FSF. It can be shortened, because the full terms
of the license are provided alongside the distribution, in the file COPYING.

39d614f55f Library: Testsuite maintenance
- SchedulerStress_test simply takes too long to complete (~4 min)
and is thus aborted by the testrunner. Add a switch to allow for
  a quick smoke test.

- SchedulerCommutator_test aborts due to an unresolved design problem,
  which I marked as failure

- add some convenience methods for passing arguments to tests

ce2116fccd Library: option to provide an explicit random seed for tests
* add new option to the commandline option parser
 * pass this as std::optional to the test-suite constructor
 * use this value optionally to inject a fixed value on re-seeding

cffa2cd6c2 Library: implement test access to hidden global RandomSequencer
this seems to be the ''classical problem situation''
where a »clean« Dependency-Injection would require to waste storage
for a pointer to the same global resource in each and every distinct test class.

Since the Test-Suite is effectively global — even more so now due to
the reliance on "the" global `RandomSequencer` (PNRG) — we'll have to
bite the bullet and access a global static variable hidden behind teh scenes.

c13d6d45f4 Library: add new API for random seeding
...to the base-class of all tests
 * `seedRand()` shall be invoked by every test using randomisation
   * it will draw a new seed for the implicit default-PRNG
   * it will document this seed value
   * but when a seed was given via cmdline, it will inject that instead
 * `makeRandGen()` will create a new dedicated generator instance,
attached (by seeding) to the current default-PRNG

It is not clear yet how to pass the actual `SeedNucleus`, which
for obvious reasons must be maintained by the `test::Suite`

615f112f5c clean-up(#985): unify various type-indicating helpers
over time, we got quite a jungle with all those
shome-me-the-type-of helper functions.

Reduced and unified all those into
- typeString : a human readable, slightly simplified full type
- typeSymbol : a single word identifier, extracted lexically from the type

note: this changeset causes a lot of tests to break,
since we're using unmangeled type-IDs pretty much everywhere now.
Beore fixing those, I'll have to implement a better simplification
scheme for the "human readable" type names....

2c20d407fc mass clean-up: adapt usage of std::cout pretty much everywhere
- remove unnecessary includes
- expunge all remaining usages of boost::format
- able to leave out the expliti string(elm) in output
- drop various operator<<, since we're now picking up
  custom string conversions automatically
- delete diagnostics headers, which are now largely superfluous
- use newer helper functions occasionally

I didn't blindly change any usage of <iostream> though;
sometimes, just using the output streams right away
seems adequate.

0c4495a451 reorganisation(#985): move basic typeString implementation into lib::meta

- pretty-printing is implemented in format-obj.cpp

088e4422fb Test helper to show demangled C++ names
Heureka! found out that the C++ standard library exposes a
cross vendor C++ ABI, which amongst others allows to show
object code names and type-IDs in the language-level, human
readable unmangeld form.

Of course, actual application code should not rely on such a
internal representation, yet it is of tremendous help when
writing and debugging unit tests.

e35a45a65e tricky header reordering to support a hackish-workaround (#944)
right now we have to defeat an unfortunate static assertion in
the standard library, which is expected to go away in the future.
We use a hack to hijack the problematic definition with the preprocessor,
which requires our header to be first.

643dfe3ea8 fix long standing error in testsuite runner
...uncovered by switching to c++11
When invoking an individual test, we used to erase
the 0-th cmdline argument, which happens to be allways
the name of the test being invoked. Yet none of our
tests actually complied to that contract. Rather,
all tests taking arguments access them by 1-based
argument index. Previously, the argument values just
happened to be still in memory at the original location
after erasing the 0st element.

"Fixed" that by changing the contract. Now, the 0th argument
remains in place, but when there are no additional arguments,
the whole cmdline is cleared.
This is messy, but the test runer needs to be rewritten
entirely, the whole API is clumsy and dangerous. Ticket #289
