''This is a breakthrough...''
Using the realigned implementation structure in `BufferProvider`,
and especially the ability to establish an overarching context by
passing an connection-ID through the `LocalTag` in the `BufferMetadata`,
it was possible to resolve the longstanding mismatch buried deep within
the `OutputSlot` implementation.
Based on the new internal APIs in `BufferProvider`, it was thus possible
to setup an `OututBufferProxy` that acts as a hub to connect the
`DataSink` handles with the actual `OutputSlot::Connection` implementation.
This change allowed to rectify the convoluted control structure in
`OutputSlot` and finally to manage the Lifecycle properly. Furthermore,
one level of unnecessary implementation-inheritance could be removed,
so that it is no longer necessary to subclass `OutputSlot` in order to
configure the link to a specific output backend.
Using this redesigned internal structure, it was now fairly simple to
re-implement a tracking `DiagnosticOutputSlot` and then to verify proper
integration by passing the `OutputSlotProtocol_test` again.
There was an old UML diagram created at the time of the first draft.
It is integrated into the »OutputSlot« page in TiddlyWiki. This description
and the diagram are highly relevant for understanding the design in this case.
Unfortunately, Umbrello was "improved" with a lot of features since I used it
for the last time, but the **quality** of the software has been **degraded**,
it is now buggy and the layout is imprecise and gets messed up easily.
__Warning__: the old diagrams look ''slighly off alignment'',
this is very likely due to some change in font handling.
I have set the default font now to 'DejaVu Sans Condensed' 9pt
In 2017, I did a first design draft, followed by a design critique,
which partially obsoleted some ideas regarding command binding.
Mostly, the reason to abandon parts of that initial design was
due to the fact, that to many actual construction details of the
UI framework were not worked out at that time.
Thus I rather focussed on (re)-building a backbone for the timeline display,
in order to support that kind of flexibility aspired within the session model.
Now, when re-visiting the topic of an UI gesture (using simple dragging
of a clip in the timeline as an example for a first draft), I picked up
some of those planned structures, but tend to bind them together in
a slightly different way -- more akin to a state machine and less
in the way of an LR-parser.
This chagneset updates the relevant part within the TiddlyWiki
and the corresponding UML drawing to better reflect my actual thinking.
After some consideration, it became clear that this service implementation
is closely tied to the DispatcherLoop -- which will consequently be
responsible to run and expose this service implementation
BoUML was close sourced by its author and consequently dropped
from Debian. We use UML as a drawing and documentation tool,
and thus we'll just start over with the /obvious/ choice,
which is the Umbrello tool.
This is the first step towards a generic backbone to connect
any GUI elements to the session within Proc-Layer.
It is based on a spefic understanding of Model-View-Controller,
which turns the Model-Controller interactions into messages.
Remove some orphaned diagrams and PNG images not actually used

removed that inheritance relation; it was a typical
example of abusing inheritance and violated the
Liscov substitution principle. It is sufficient
to allow promotion of an offset into a Duration.
Note: Duration is the time metric
