document a weakness of boost::hash for strings

cleanup configflags to use uint instead of char
...
using char for those flag template parameters
was never a good idea. It won't save us any space
and makes debugging harder

a bit of stylistic cleanup
...
- using std::tr1::shared_ptr in namespace gui
- thus removing a lot of std::tr1 qualifications
- fix some includes. Should be relative to 'src'
- interface classes should declare a virtual dtor!

containment test) are mostly not used in conjunction
with the more elaborate typelist manipulatino utils.
Moreover, we lacked a dedicated unit test
